The process of harvesting natural sea sponges is a meticulous one that takes approximately two years to reach the harvestable size. Skilled free divers routinely remove seaweed and biofouling agents by hand. These sponges are then processed through natural methods. They are left to air dry and then placed in baskets, returning to the lagoon where they were grown. This process effectively removes all organic matter within the sponge, leaving behind the final bath sponge product.
